I've read so many articles about Garcinia Cambogia in the last months that I now feel overwhelmed by the amount of contradicting information. You probably feel the same so I decided to write a summary of what is actually known and proven scientifically about the weight loss effects of this "wonder fruit".
Below you'll find two summarized scientific studies on the effects of Garcinia Cambogia
I will continue investigating on this and come back with more scientific data in my future articles. For now, the data summarized here should give you a good idea about how good Garcinia is for weight loss.
"Hypolipemic Effect of Garcinia cambogia in Obese Women" by Vasques CA, Schneider R, Klein-Júnior LC, Falavigna A, Piazza I, Rossetto S. published in/by Phytother Res. 2013 Oct 17. doi: 10.1002/ptr.5076. Read on here...
The above study evaluated multiple variables: the weight of the subjects, the Body Mass Index (BMI), waist-hip ratio, triglycerides or TG levels, etc. The research concluded that TG's were significantly reduced in the treated group compared to the placebo group. Note: Triglycerides are the fat cells in the body. When you refer to fat developing and being stored in your hips or belly, you're actually talking about triglycerides.
"Natural products: a safest approach for obesity." by Vasudeva N, Yadav N, Sharma SK. published in the Chinese Journal of Integrative Medicine 2012 Jun;18(6):473-80. doi: 10.1007/s11655-012-1120-0. Epub 2012 Jul 22. Read on here...
This is an entire book on traditional medicine from Asia and it doesn't actually focus specifically to Garcinia Cambogia as an effective weight loss product. The authors also refer to other medicinal plants such as Achyranthus aspera, Camellia sinensis, Emblica officinalis, Terminalia arjuna, etc. The this scientific source brings about the idea that many plant driven weight loss supplements available out there, including Garcinia Cambogia have a beneficial effect on weight loss, while having little or no side effects when measuring against similar chemical-based products.
To conclude, if you want to lose weight Garcinia Cambogia will help you in this endeavor and I see no reason why you shouldn't use it.
